On March 9, 2020, the city of Manila and it’s neighboring cities abruptly suspended classes on all levels due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus; But what was supposed to be only a weeklong suspension got extended by another week, and another, until it became a nationwide lockdown, and therefore an indefinite ban on face-to-face classes.

In the event now famously known as Edsa 1 or People Power Revolution, this historical moment was one of the shaping factors of our nation, that showed the courage of Filipinos in fighting back (even if it meant risking their lives) against a tyrant’s abuse of power.

Because of the quarantine and social distancing regulations, couples used to seeing each other regularly were suddenly thrust in what felt like a “long-distance relationship,”
